Reviews for "Lady Macbeth" Lyon in 2016
jan.2016
- Edited like a movie script, this opera multiplies conflicting musical atmospheres. A godsend for Kazushi Ono who is particularly inspired (...). Between paroxysms reminiscent of Mahler, satirical touches and refinements worthy of Mussorgsky, the conductor sustains a constant musical tension, enhancing the sometimes violent and erotic, sometimes revolting, images suggested by Tcherniakov's production.
Antonio Mafra, Le Progrès, 26.jan.2016

- At the head of the Orchestra National de Lyon, Kazushi Ono can proudly keep his head up after Rostropovich (...). The soli violin and cello are exquisite and the conductor is a master at sustaining the subtle contrast between the sometimes sarcastic, sometimes agonising tone of Shostakovich's music.
Sonia Hossein-Pour, Forum Opéra, 23.jan.2016
